The scientific monograph is based on long-term qualitative research of the Nová Cvernovka cultural and creative centre in Bratislava, which took place from 2017 to 2019. The book presents the history of this centre from its establishment in a former textile factory, through its relocation in 2016 to the current premises. In the monograph, the author describes and analyses the five identified types of civic activism in the story of this centre. The overview of Nová Cvernovka's activities revealed the frequent occurrence of various types of collaborations and networks between individuals, art studios, and civic organizations. The subject of the study of these phenomena is the Cvernovka Foundation the administrator of the cultural and creative center. By applying the theoretical concept of transactional activism, the author answers the central question of his research why are the manifestations of cooperation within civic activism characteristic for the activities of this organization?
